Full-Time or Part-Time Mental Health Therapist

Northeastern Mental Health Center is seeking a full-time or part-time therapist at our Aberdeen location who wishes to become part of our dynamic treatment team. Provide mental health services to adults, families and children based on effective research models. This includes providing assessments, interacting as a treatment team member with other staff and/or agencies, as well as the provision of emergency services as needed. Northeastern Mental Health Center is an approved site from the National Health Service Corps for school loan repayment for eligible candidates. 

Master’s degree required in a behavioral health field and two (2) years preferred professional experience in provision of public or private social work, clinical services, behavioral health, family services, substance abuse and/or other related human services.

Full-Time Licensed Addiction Counselor/Certified Addiction Counselor/Addiction Counselor Trainee

Northeastern Mental Health Center is seeking a full-time Licensed Addiction Counselor, Certified Alcohol Counselor or Addiction Counselor Trainee. We are a comprehensive community mental health center that seeks to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities by providing effective therapeutic and preventive services. 

Specific duties include conducting substance abuse assessments and providing therapeutic intervention and supportive counseling to adolescent and adults in regard to substance abuse issues. Serve as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized and measurable treatment goals and modalities for each client. Perform crisis intervention to minimize relapse potential and support goals of treatment plan. Ability to clearly communicate, orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, community organizations, provider agencies and the general public. Ensure clinical activities are person focused, incorporating cultural sensitivity and respect, resulting in high levels of client/family, colleague and team member satisfaction. Northeastern Mental Health Center is an approved site from the National Health Service Corps for school loan repayment for eligible candidates. 

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and be a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the State of South Dakota or working toward licensure and/or certification.
